The results of the first competitive procedures for the national project "Comfortable School" have become known. As a result, developers were identified for 21 objects, which will be built in 5 regions of the country:

Astana - 15 schools

Pavlodar region - 2 schools

Abay region - 2 schools

Zhetysu region - 1 school

Ulytau region - 1 school

North Kazakhstan region - 1 school (developer not identified).

It should be noted that in the capital the competition was high. From 2 to 7 potential contractors competed for one lot.

Initially, the competition was announced for 26 schools, where 43 potential suppliers submitted a total of 101 applications. While the winners were immediately determined for 21 schools, the purchases for the remaining 5 lots did not take place due to the fact that potential suppliers did not pass the qualification requirements.

And the determined winners will sign EPC agreements with the operator of the national project, Samruk-Kazyna Construction, within a week. Such an agreement will allow launching all processes simultaneously, such as engineering (Engineering), equipment purchase (Procurement) and construction (Construction).

After signing the contracts, the stage of designing educational institutions will begin. For schools with a capacity of 300 to 1200 students, this process will take 4 months, for the rest 5 months. In parallel with the design, preparatory work will begin on the land plots where construction is planned. This is the removal of the vegetation layer, the summing up of temporary engineering networks, the installation of fencing, and so on.

In total, in 2023, it is planned to build 185 comfortable schools. The results of the competitions for all these objects will be known in the coming days.

The facilities will be delivered on a turnkey basis, that is, both construction and equipment will be produced by suppliers who have won the tender. There will be no separate lots, for example, for the supply of furniture, plumbing, interactive equipment, and so on. Thus, procurement participants were given the opportunity to unite in consortiums. As for transparency, all purchases are made on the customer's online platform.
