When purchasing building materials, furniture and equipment for comfortable schools, Kazakhstani manufacturers will be given priority.

On July 17, the discussion of the amendments to Government Decree No. 963 was completed on the website of open normative acts (NLA). The final signing of the document is scheduled for the end of July.

The document notes that furniture for schools will be purchased only from companies included in the register of commodity producers of the Samruk-Kazyna Fund and the Register of Domestic Producers (OTP). During the discussions, the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Atameken" proposed to include in the new version of the document a KPI indicator of 70% for the purchase of domestic products. However, the proposal did not receive support from the Government.

It is important to emphasize that SK Construction undertakes to support domestic manufacturers of goods. In particular, in the case of the purchase of foreign furniture in the presence of domestic analogues, the project operator will be fined in the amount of 15% of the amount of unfulfilled obligations to purchase from domestic producers.

“We are fully committed to the idea of attracting domestic manufacturers to equip comfortable schools. Realizing the importance of the development of domestic production, we will actively attract Kazakh companies, providing them with all the necessary conditions for participation in the national project,” the representative of SK Construction emphasized.

As part of the support for domestic manufacturers, special furniture commissions have already been created in 20 regions of the country, whose tasks include studying needs, assessing production potential and selecting domestic enterprises to equip comfortable schools. The composition of the commissions includes representatives of SK Construction and secondary schools, deputies of the maslikhat, representatives of the prosecutor's office, the department for sanitary and epidemiological control, the Department of Emergency Situations, the education department and the Atameken NCE.

For each region, the commission collegially compiled a list of Kazakhstani enterprises that meet all the necessary standards. This means that the selected manufacturers can produce high quality furniture in the right quantity and on time.

As a result of the work of furniture commissions in 20 regions of Kazakhstan, 134 domestic furniture manufacturers have already been identified that have all the necessary resources to equip comfortable schools.

According to the contractual obligations, the general contractors of the project will conclude contracts with furniture suppliers within a month after the successful passing of the state expertise by comfortable schools. The first 207 schools will be commissioned by the end of 2024.
