National Scientific Center for Infectious Diseases: A New Stage of Medical Science in Kazakhstan
Construction of the National Scientific Center for Infectious Diseases is underway in Almaty, which will be the first institution in the country to combine phthisiopulmonology and infectious disease profiles. Located on a spacious territory of 12 hectares, the Center is designed for 350 beds and will open its doors in September this year.
The project is implemented by the Corporate Foundation "Facilities Construction Company". Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Corporate Fund, Maulen Aimanbetov, personally familiarized himself with the construction progress on March 31 and expressed satisfaction with the results achieved.
The Center will use innovative methods of isolation of infected patients, including specialized semi-box wards with pressure gradient control - an approach that has already proved itself in leading foreign infectious diseases hospitals.
An important part of the center will be a research complex, where scientific, experimental and applied work will be carried out. A modern laboratory compliant with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) standards will enable clinical trials of new drugs and biologics in the first two phases.
This unique project will make a significant contribution to the development of medical science and healthcare in Kazakhstan, providing new opportunities for the treatment and research of infectious diseases.
