The first comfortable school was opened in Karaganda
In Karaganda, in the Kendala microdistrict, the first comfortable school for 2,000 children, built as part of the Comfortable School national project, opened on 1 September. It will relieve the pressure on four schools in the south-eastern part of the city. First of all, students from the Alikhan Ermekov Lyceum School, which was overcrowded, moved here.
The opening ceremony was attended by Karaganda Oblast Akim Yermaganbet Bulekpaev and Minister of Labour and Social Protection Svetlana Zhakupova.
‘The first of September is the beginning when you enter a new world of knowledge. Education and science are the main key to success. Creating favourable conditions for comfortable, quality education of the younger generation is our main goal. I am sure that an interesting and wonderful future awaits you within the walls of this comfortable school!’, - said the head of the region.
‘I am very glad to be with you on such a special day. The ‘Comfortable School’ project, initiated on the direct order of the Head of State, is aimed at eliminating emergency schools, overcoming the shortage of pupil places and ensuring a comfortable educational process,’ Svetlana Zhakupova said. ‘Your school is not just walls and classrooms. It is a place where ideal conditions for development and learning have been created.’
150 teachers were hired to the comfortable school through a competition. From the very first days, students and teachers will appreciate the advantages of the new format according to the standards of the national project.
There are separate blocks with classrooms, sanitary facilities and gyms for primary and high school students. Six entrances and exits have been made for convenience and safety. The classrooms and laboratories are modified, equipped according to the most modern requirements. The furniture is ergonomic.
