A comfortable school for 1,200 pupils was opened in the village of Kabanbai Batyr in Akmola Oblast. This is the fifth educational institution built in the region under the national project. Akim of the region Marat Akhmetzhanov took part in the opening ceremony.

More than 1300 pupils live in Kabanbai Batyr village. Previously, children were educated in two old buildings with 250 and 270 seats. Due to the lack of classrooms, lessons were often held in corridors, which created inconvenience for teachers and students. These problems are now behind us. Teachers and students are being transferred to the new school-lyceum, where education will be conducted in Kazakh and Russian languages.

The facility was built as part of the national project ‘Comfortable School’, which is being implemented on the initiative of the President of the country, Kasym-Jomart Tokayev. The contracting organisation is Kazstroypodryad LLP. The three-storey school fully complies with the new education standards. All classrooms are equipped with modern computers and interactive whiteboards, connected to high-speed Internet.

Pupils of senior and junior classes will study in separate blocks, each of which is equipped with classrooms, sanitary facilities, sports halls and lockers for storing personal belongings. An inclusion room, ramps and lifts are provided for children with special needs.
