Samruk-Kazyna Construction and Japanese MITSUI & CO. LTD discussed the prospects of introducing earthquake-resistant technologies in Kazakhstan
Today in the central office of Samruk-Kazyna Construction an official meeting with the Japanese delegation took place within the framework of discussion of possibilities of introduction of innovative technologies in the construction sector of Kazakhstan. Participants of the working meeting were Chairman of the Board Maulen Aimanbetov, his first deputy Gabit Malgazdarov, as well as representatives of Japanese corporation MITSUI & CO. LTD, including General Manager Takeshi Shimada and Lead Project Coordinator Birzhan Shakirbayev.
The main attention was paid to the discussion of design solutions for construction of earthquake-resistant structures and modern building materials, which, on the one hand, can improve the quality of constructed objects, and on the other hand - accelerate construction work. These technologies promise to significantly improve the safety of buildings, especially in earthquake-prone regions, which is extremely relevant for Kazakhstan.
Representatives of MITSUI & CO. LTD demonstrated advanced developments in the field of earthquake resistance and discussed the possibilities of their use in the construction of social and residential facilities in Kazakhstan. The company expressed its readiness for close co-operation and technology exchange, not limited to construction, but also covering such areas as industrial engineering and production of construction materials.
‘The company MITSUI & CO. LTD is known all over the world. We started our activities in Kazakhstan 30 years ago, opening two offices, and we are actively working in various business spheres. Today we are beginning to develop our activities in the construction industry. Our subsidiary Komatsu sells and services construction and mining equipment. Like some regions of Kazakhstan, Japan is prone to seismic risks. We are interested in deepening co-operation in the construction of earthquake-resistant structures, which are considered to be among the best in the world,’ said Takeshi Shimada, general manager of the company.
Maulen Aimanbetov, for his part, emphasised the interest in introducing such innovations in the Kazakhstan market.
‘Your seismic isolation technologies can significantly enhance the safety of facilities under construction. The Kazakhstan market is interested in advanced Japanese developments, because such technologies not only increase the stability of buildings, but also contribute to economic growth, opening up prospects for the development of new industries. We see significant potential for co-operation and are ready to develop it in a working order,’ Maulen Aimanbetov emphasised.
The parties agreed on further co-operation: the Japanese delegation expressed readiness to invite Kazakh colleagues to their plants for a more detailed familiarisation with production capacities and possible investments in Kazakhstan.
