The tenth comfortable school for the benefit of the people was opened in Astana
A new school was officially opened today in the capital's Yesil district, on Kasym Kaisenov Street. This is the tenth of 23 educational institutions planned in the capital, built within the framework of the national project ‘Comfortable School’. Akim of the city Zhenis Kasymbek took part in the opening ceremony.
The construction contractor was NAK Construction LLP. The school is designed for 1200 pupils studying in two shifts.
According to the school director, the teaching staff is fully staffed. More than 250 pupils have already been transferred from overcrowded schools #95, #82 and Binom, and the rest of the school is expected at the beginning of the third quarter. The educational process will start already on Monday, 25 November.
It is interesting that earlier it was planned to build an entertainment centre on the place of the school, but thanks to the active position of local residents it was decided to erect an educational facility.
The modern school building is divided into blocks for primary, middle and high school students. Each block is equipped with co-working zones, which are also provided for teachers. There is a playroom for younger students, and a robotics room for developing digital skills. In the STEM-lab pupils will be able to consolidate theoretical knowledge in practice.
The school was built within the framework of the national project ‘Comfortable School’ initiated by the President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev. This project is aimed at solving the problems of emergency and three-shift schools, as well as eliminating the shortage of pupil places.
