In the Turkestan region, the mobilization of construction equipment has begun for the construction of a power plant based on a combined cycle plant with a capacity of 1000 MW.

Chairman of the Board of Samruk-Kazyna Construction JSC Maulen Aimanbetov heard the report of Askar Kusainov, General Director of CCGT Turkestan LLP, on the progress of the project. Geodetic survey work is being carried out, cutting of the fertile vegetation layer has already begun.

The future power plant will be equipped with a modern combined-cycle plant, which will allow more efficient use of energy resources. The expertise carried out by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources confirms that the construction of the power plant will not have negative consequences for the environment.

A Kazakh delegation led by Maulen Aimanbetov recently visited Siemens Energy plants in Berlin, which is a world leader in the energy industry and specializes in the production of gas and steam turbines with high efficiency, reliability and low emissions. Siemens plants already have a large volume of orders for the next two years from all over the world. Despite this, they accepted an order for turbines for a power plant in the Turkestan region and will produce them on time.

The head of SK Construction noted that this is an important project that will increase the reliability of the national energy system, compensate for the missing energy capacities and smooth out emergency voltage fluctuations. Therefore, it is important to put it into operation in a timely manner without allowing delays.

The power plant will be built by the South Korean corporation DOOSAN ENERBILITY, which owns the main technologies for the production of boilers, turbines and generators.

During the construction, two thousand jobs will be created, and after the project is completed and the facility is put into operation, more than three hundred permanent jobs will be created. Thus, the project will have a multiplier effect, contributing to the development of the labor force and the economy.
