The end users should have the right to choose school furniture and take into account, first of all, their needs and wishes. Teachers know better than others which chairs are more comfortable for children to sit on and which desks are more convenient to study at. Maulen Aimanbetov stated this during a working trip to the West Kazakhstan region. Last weekend, the Chairman of the Board visited the land allotted for the construction of comfortable schools in the region.

During a conversation with the deputy head of the education department of the WKO, Aimanbetov recalled that special commissions are being created in each region to select school furniture. The composition of the commissions must necessarily include the deputy akim of the region, the head of the education department, school principals and their deputies for the administrative and economic part. It is they who collectively will determine the color, design, material of manufacture and other external characteristics of the furniture.

“Prior to this, specially created furniture commissions in each region identified enterprises that meet all standards. Contact these factories, ask them to organize an exhibition, or visit them yourself. It is necessary to choose the optimal models for each type of furniture and give us a ready list. You choose all the furniture yourself, and we will include them in the design documentation of the schools. Contractors must equip schools strictly according to design estimates. You, teachers, know the preferences of children better, and builders should build, not choose furniture,” Aimanbetov said during a dialogue with the deputy head of the education department.

The Comfortable School project is designed to give parents confidence that their children are in a safe and secure educational environment, where they are provided with all the necessary conditions for learning and development. This is a thoughtful design project that takes into account the needs of children, high-quality materials, reliable infrastructure, a modern monitoring system and a protected area.

During a visit to construction sites, the head of Samruk Kazyna Construction paid special attention to the issues of bringing the benefits of civilization to schools, in particular water supply networks, sewerage and high-speed Internet.

“In some areas it is necessary to bring up to 1 km of networks, several hundred meters. This is a short distance that does not require large expenses. Therefore, if tender procedures and design are delayed in the LEB, the contractor could supply the missing engineering networks at his own expense. For all these expenses, you can draw up separate estimates, submit them to local executive bodies, and they, in turn, will in fact reimburse you for all costs. It is very important in a timely manner, and it is better to bring all the engineering networks to the facilities in advance,” Aymanbetov suggested.

The Chairman of the Board also instructed contractors to purchase inert and building materials mainly from local manufacturers in order not to “carry crushed stone and sand from the other side of the country”. Aimanbetov gave the task to analyze all the existing quarries and factories: capacity, location and distance from the site where the schools will be built.
