24 comfortable schools will be built in Astana by 2026
As part of the pilot national project "Comfortable School" in the city of Astana, it is planned to build 24 schools. This will create 44.4 thousand new student places in one shift (88.8 thousand places in two shifts).
In 2023, construction of 22 schools for 41.2 thousand student places in one shift will begin in the capital. These schools are scheduled to be commissioned by the end of 2024.
The construction of 1 school for 2000 places will begin in 2024 and be completed by the end of 2025.
Local executive bodies will buy 1 school for 1200 places from the developer as a commodity. Commissioning is scheduled for the end of 2025.
The construction sites of future comfortable schools in the capital on Saturday were visited by the director of the department for the implementation of the national project of Samruk-Kazyna Construction JSC Yerbol Akhmetov and the head of the design and construction department Abdukerim Arshamov. They got acquainted with the projects of buildings and the course of preparatory work for construction.
To date, 15 schools have signed EPC contracts with developers. Competitive procedures are underway for 7 schools, the results of which will be known in August. The EPC contract is a foreign construction management methodology, according to which all processes (Engineering - design, Procurement - equipment supply and Construction - construction) will be carried out simultaneously by one contractor or consortium, which will save time.
Currently, contractors are preparing land plots for construction (fencing, installing CCTV cameras, mobilizing construction equipment, engineering and geological surveys, driving test piles, etc.), in parallel, the development of design estimates for schools is underway. After passing the design and estimate documentation of the state expertise, construction and installation work will begin.
