The head of Samruk-Kazyna Construction, Maulen Aimanbetov, and Akim of the Akmola region, Yermek Marzhikpayev, got acquainted with the preparations for the construction of a school for 1,200 students in the village of Kabanbai Batyr, which is 30 kilometers from the capital. The educational institution will be built as part of the pilot national project "Comfortable School".

The facility will be commissioned by the end of 2024. Discussing the issues of designing, building and equipping schools, the Chairman of the Board asked the head of the region to create a special commission for the selection of furniture products for comfortable schools. According to Aimanbetov, the commission for the selection of furniture should include the deputy akim of the region in charge of education, heads of education and entrepreneurship departments, school directors and their deputies for administrative and economic affairs, as well as a representative of Atameken NCE.

“I think it would be fair if teachers, directors and their deputies for ACH (administrative and economic part) for each class chose furniture on their own. They know better what desks, chairs, and cabinets are needed in what quantities. They are end users, so they are interested in school furniture that is of high quality and comfortable for children. The task of the builders is to build on time, but they must determine the color, material of manufacture, design. And we, in turn, will include all this in the design and estimate documentation of schools,” said the head of Samruk-Kazyna Construction.

The issues of design and construction of access roads, as well as engineering infrastructure, were also discussed.

In total, within the framework of the national project “Comfortable School”, 369 secondary education facilities will be built throughout the country, of which 18 in the Akmola region. In the region, the construction of 9 schools will begin this year and be completed in 2024. The remaining 9 schools will open their doors by the end of 2025. This will create 22.6 thousand (45.2 thousand in two shifts) new student places throughout the region.
