From ventilation systems to block-modular boiler houses, there is a daily active discussion of the design plans for comfortable schools, which are being developed by 50 design organisations. Each proposal is reviewed in detail by the design department headed by Maulen Aimanbetov, Chairman of the Board of Samruk-Kazyna Construction.

"Construction of a 2- or 3-storey building is technically not difficult, but only if the design and estimate documentation is developed qualitatively. The school's design and construction documentation must be complete, detailed and well thought out. There are no trifles in design. This is our priority", - said the Chairman of the Board at the meeting with designers of comfortable schools.

At the meeting, they detailed questions on water supply, sewerage systems, ventilation and heating. It is necessary to choose materials that comply with regulations, and also to take into account a number of important factors.

The first is the requirements for materials and their manufacturers. Provided warranty should be at least 3 years, and the availability of its own service or outsourcing - in each region of the country. And the main thing is to provide the necessary service quickly and qualitatively. We should not forget about the availability of goods in sufficient quantity, and, of course, the positive feedback from consumers after long-term operation. We will make a thorough analysis on this matter.

Secondly, when designing comfortable schools, it is necessary to take into account the peculiarities of the area, climate and level of infrastructure development. For example, it is important to consider the issue of connecting engineering communications in the absence of central water supply and heating system in the settlement. Speaking of the latter, if the area is remote and difficult to access in winter, it is necessary to provide the school with at least a week's supply of fuels and lubricants. Special attention is paid to fire safety in rural areas where there is no access to a central water supply system. Schools will be provided with fire-fighting water tanks, the volume of which is selected depending on the capacity of the facility.

Every square metre in the new schools must meet full safety requirements. This means that not a single manhole hatch for the wells of the on-site networks will be left unlocked.

"The designers' approach to the project must be economic. It is important to envisage the longevity of each material and think about what will happen to it in 10 years' time. An important factor is the ability to maintain utilities on the school site. If we install wastewater treatment system at the educational facility, it should be with biological treatment", - said the head of Samruk-Kazyna Construction.

As a result of the meeting, Samruk-Kazyna Construction Design Department gave recommendations to the design organisations to finalise the design plans. The projects of comfortable schools will be sent to the state expertise only when they will correspond to their name. Full-scale construction and installation work will begin after a favourable opinion is received. Aimanbetov warned that there should be no deviations from the design and estimate documentation. For this purpose, Samruk-Kazyna Construction plans to conclude an additional agreement with contractors, violation of the terms of which entails losses for construction companies - they will eliminate deviations at their own expense.
