The issues of earthquake resistance of comfortable schools in Almaty were discussed in Kazakhstan Research and Design Institute of Construction and Architecture JSC
On 19 September, within the framework of the second day of the working trip Chairman of the Board of Samruk-Kazyna Construction JSC Maulen Aimanbetov held a meeting in the walls of the Kazakh Scientific Research and Design Institute of Construction and Architecture (KazRDICA) with the participation of General Director Begman Kulbaev, his deputies and specialists. Chief architects of construction companies BI Global and Bazis Construction were also present.
Seismic issues were discussed. As Almaty is located in a seismically active zone, before passing the state expertise the design plans of all schools must receive a favourable opinion from KazNIISA specialists. Their recommendations should be taken into account in the design. In particular, this applies to areas where there is a threat of earthquakes of magnitude 10 and above. Special technical conditions are required for comfortable schools built in such areas. There is understanding on the part of the Institute in this matter. All contractors of comfortable schools in Almaty and Almaty region must necessarily conclude an agreement on scientific and technical support during the design and construction period, which will be provided by Kazakhstan Research and Design Institute of Construction and Architecture JSC.
