The first comfortable school was opened in Almaty
Today, on Knowledge Day, more than 29,000 first-graders in Almaty heard their first school bell. Among them are pupils of a new comfortable school in Auezovsky district. The capacity of the modern educational institution, built within the framework of the national project, is 600 pupils in one shift.
The object was erected on the place of the old 97 school, which was smaller and its condition was emergency. Demolition was carried out last year, and children were temporarily transferred to nearby educational institutions. And after only a year they returned to the new and modern, comfortable school.
Amangeldy Sattarov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Samruk-Kazyna Construction JSC, attended the opening ceremony of the comfortable school. The area of the educational facility is 20 per cent larger than in ordinary schools. This allowed to equip inclusion and sensory classes, to organise separate and comfortable rooms for speech therapist, social pedagogue and psychologist. There are also individual co-working spaces for toddlers, middle and high school students and teachers. Thus, every square metre of space in the school has been used efficiently and usefully. Most importantly, in order to improve children's digital literacy, a robotics room and a stam lab have been equipped to reinforce the knowledge learnt in lessons. In the school yard there is a stadium, which allows holding national level competitions, universal sports grounds and several playgrounds depending on the age of children.
Currently, 21 more objects under the national project ‘Comfortable School’ are under construction in Almaty. Of these, 12 educational facilities are being built under the order of Samruk-Kazyna Construction JSC. Educational institutions are planned to be put into operation by the end of this year, which will definitely contribute to solving the issue of deficit of pupil places, which is acute in the metropolis.
