A new comfortable school opened its doors in Almaty region
The official opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek and the head of the region Marat Sultangaziev.
The 1200-seat school, built under the pilot national project ‘Comfortable School’, is located in the village of Koshmambet, Almaty region. Today the children have entered the threshold of the house of knowledge for the first time.
The new modern comfortable school has created a functional and safe educational environment for children. Separate blocks are provided for primary and high school students. There is also a barrier-free environment for children with special educational needs, modern subject rooms, STEM-labs, robotics classrooms, a choreography room, 4 sports halls, co-working and recreation areas, playgrounds and sports grounds.
Special attention has been paid to security measures: digital video cameras and turnstiles have been installed.
At the opening ceremony, Minister Sayasat Nurbek noted that in connection with the growing demand for specialists in the field of education, the number of state grants for pedagogical areas increases annually, and it is planned to train more than 111 thousand teaching staff until 2029.
‘Pursuant to the instruction of the Head of State, the Standard for Accreditation of Pedagogical Universities and the Concept of Modernisation of Pedagogical Education have been approved. The number of grants for pedagogical specialities has reached 15,923, and the requirements for admission to these specialities have been tightened. In addition, universities are tasked with training new teachers capable of working at a fundamentally new level, as well as reviewing approaches to the teaching process,’ Sayasat Nurbek said.
- Within the framework of the national project ‘Comfortable School’ we continue to open modern educational institutions that provide comfortable conditions for learning. Today we are opening 3 new schools, and this is only part of a large-scale programme to improve the quality of education in our region,’ said Marat Sultangaziev, Akim of Almaty region.
The Minister of Science and Higher Education congratulated the students on the new academic year and urged them to ‘study every lesson with diligence for the benefit of the bright future of our Motherland’.
Pilot national project ‘Comfortable School’ in the field of education is implemented by direct order of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev. Samruk- KazynaConstruction JSC is a single directorate responsible for the construction of schools.
