On 20 January, the opening ceremony of a new school built under the Comfortable School national project was held in the 17th microdistrict of Aktau.

The event was attended by the Akim of Mangistau region Nurdaulet Kilybay, Chairman of the regional Maslikhat Zhanbyrbai Mataev, veterans of the education sector, representatives of state organisations and parents. Veteran teachers noted the importance of quality education for the formation of a successful future of the country.

The school with a total area of 10,400 square metres is designed for 900 seats. Currently, 1908 pupils study here in two shifts. 143 teachers are responsible for their education.

The modern equipment of the school includes 53 specialised subject classrooms, STEM-labs, pottery, visual design and choreography classes. There is also a sensory room, speech therapist, speech pathologist and psychologist's rooms to support pupils with special educational needs.

Within the framework of the national project in 2025 in Mangistau region it is planned to complete the construction of 13 new schools for 12600 pupils in one shift. At the moment, four schools for 4500 seats have been commissioned, located in 17, 19 and 33 micro-districts of Aktau city, as well as in Khazar micro-district of Batyr village of Munaili district.
