During a working trip to WKO last weekend, Maulen Aimanbetov, Chairman of the Board of Samruk-Kazyna Construction, inspected the construction sites of future comfortable schools and instructed design organizations to pay special attention to the planning of areas adjacent to schools, taking into account high standards of safety, comfort and useful use.

“For us at Samruk-Kazyna Construction, as an operator, the primary task is not only to complete the project on time, but also to ensure a high level of safety for finished facilities. In practice, this means a well-thought-out design project that takes into account the needs of children's development, high-quality materials, reliable, smartly planned infrastructure, protected territory, barrier-free environment, recreation areas, modern sports grounds,” Maulen Aimanbetov emphasized during his visit to the construction site in the Balausa microdistrict in city of Uralsk.

An educational institution for 1,500 children will be built in this microdistrict within the framework of the pilot national project "Comfortable School". The contractor is BI Global LLP. To date, the site is fenced, video surveillance cameras have been installed, but work on removing the vegetation layer of the earth has not yet begun. Aimanbetov instructed to speed up the process and once again noted that the entrance to comfortable schools should be from all four sides. He also drew attention to safety issues during the construction process.

“Clear organization and labor protection, compliance with safety regulations is a must. Follow all the rules, create comfortable conditions for employees. All this will be monitored by technical supervision experts and reported to me personally. It's important to me," he warned.

Another comfortable school will be built in the village of Derkul in the city of Uralsk. The educational institution is designed for 1500 places. The contractor, KazConstructionGroup LLP, carries out all work according to the schedule and is ready to start construction without delay after receiving a positive conclusion from the state expertise on design and estimate documentation.

“According to the plan, schools for 1200-2500 places should be commissioned by the end of 2024. But I ask you to try to be in time for the beginning of the next academic year, so that on September 1 the children go to a new, modern and comfortable school. But, this should not negatively affect the quality in any way, it is a priority for us. No deviations from the project and unauthorized decisions. Everything must be strictly and clearly according to the design and estimate documentation, control will be tough,” warned the head of Samruk-Kazyna Construction.

Aimanbetov also visited a site in the village of Podstepnoye, Terektinsky district, where a school for 1,200 students is planned to be built. The issue of building a storm sewer is acute here. Without it, during the spring floods, the school runs the risk of being flooded. The district akimat is engaged in the decision of the given problem. The representative of the LEA explained that all procedures for the construction of storm water have begun, the issue will be completely removed before the school is put into operation. By the way, there is a similar problem in several other rural settlements where it is planned to build comfortable schools.

Maulen Aimanbetov held a personal meeting with WKO Akim Nariman Toregaliev, where he voiced all the problematic issues that arose during the implementation of the national project. According to the head of SK Construction, one of the most important topics is the timely provision of engineering networks and access roads to schools. The solution of these issues, by and large, depends on the organized work of local executive bodies. The head of the region assured that he would give relevant instructions and personally make sure that all the work was completed on time.

In total, as part of the pilot national project "Comfortable School" in the West Kazakhstan region, 18 new, comfortable and modern secondary education facilities will be built, 9 of which will open their doors by the end of 2024. The construction of the remaining 9 schools will begin next year, and commissioning is scheduled for the end of 2025. Successful implementation of the national project will create 16.2 thousand new student places throughout the region.
