On 14 September Maulen Aimanbetov, Chairman of the Board of Samruk-Kazyna Construction, paid a working visit to Aktobe region. As part of the trip, a meeting with the new head of the region, Askhat Shakharov, was held to discuss the difficulties encountered in the implementation of the national project "Comfortable School".

In particular, in the course of decisions made in microdistrict 7 of the Batys-2 residential area in Aktobe, the location of one of the plots was changed in order to provide more space for the construction of a school for 2,000 pupils. The general contractor is BI Global LLP. Commissioning is scheduled for the end of 2024. In turn, a smaller school is planned to be built on the old site during the second phase of the National Project.

Another plot in the same residential area will be expanded for the construction of a school for 900 children. The construction is carried out by Antarium Group LLP. Commissioning of the school is scheduled for the end of next year.

Also, the head of the region and the Chairman of the Board visited the sites in the residential areas of "Sazdy" and "Bauyrlastar-3" of Aktobe city. As a result of the visit, a decision was made to modify and expand two plots for the construction of schools for 300 and 600 pupils, respectively, in order to provide free access to the educational institution from four sides. The schools will be operational by the beginning of the next academic year.

Additionally, a decision was made to demolish a dilapidated building dating back to 1938, which prevents the construction of a 600-seat school in Shubarkuduk village of Temir district. The project is being implemented by Kaz Hydro Spas LLP. Commissioning of the school is scheduled for the end of next year

Within the framework of the visit all problematic issues were solved. In turn, the akim of the region promised to take personal control over the implementation of the national project in the region.

"During the visit the problematic issues slowing down the implementation of the project were identified and solved. In particular, this is due to the lack of coordination between regional representatives and the centre, as well as insufficiently coordinated work between our designers and general contractors. We need to establish effective co-operation in order to prepare all land plots for construction on time, without delays," Maulen Aimanbetov summarised his visit.

13 comfortable schools will be built in the city of Aktobe, in areas where there is a shortage of pupil places. For example, the commissioning of two new educational institutions for 2,000 and 900 places in the densely populated Batys-2 neighbourhood will solve the problem of shortage of pupil places and three-shift education in schools No. 63 and No. 64.
